AI Normal Map Generator

A practical bridge between a material brief and a production texture workflow: generate a material source with KIE AI, then convert it locally for your renderer.

AI Normal Map Generator

Describe the material you want and optionally add a reference image. KIE AI creates a material source, then this browser converts it into normal and height maps for your selected engine.

KIE AI generates a material image, not a finished normal map. The normal and height maps are derived locally in your browser. The selected source image is sent to KIE only when you choose KIE AI.

FAQ

Questions about AI texture generation?

Is this an actual AI image-to-normal-map API?+

Yes. KIE AI uses OpenAI GPT Image 2 to create the material source image, and this browser converts that source into normal and height maps. The normal map itself is derived locally rather than returned directly by the image model.

Can I upload a material reference image?+

Yes. The local preview keeps the image in your browser. If you choose KIE AI, the resized selected source image is sent through the server-side KIE workflow for image editing and the API key is not exposed to the browser.

Which AI model powers this page?+

The connected provider is KIE AI GPT Image 2 (image-to-image). With no uploaded reference, the selected material sample is used as the source image; with an upload, your resized reference is used instead. The generated material image is converted locally into maps.

Does the local preview upload my prompt or image?+

The local preview does not upload your prompt or image. The KIE AI button is different: it intentionally sends the prompt, and an optional reference image, to the server-side KIE workflow so the material source can be generated.
